About Urgent Care Services
At Kansas City Orthopedic Alliance, we always strive to make our patient’s lives easier. Ortho urgent care gives our patients the flexibility to seek treatment for acute injuries immediately.
In doing so, our specialists and physicians can provide proper, effective care while eliminating long waits. With orthopedic urgent care, you can go directly to one of our offices for treatment without an appointment. During operation hours, our orthopedic specialists can evaluate your condition, including a comprehensive physical examination and any advanced testing necessary to properly diagnose your issue. We can then initiate treatment by providing a plan of care that may include bracing, therapy, or prescription medications to get you started on your road to recovery.
Kansas City Orthopedic Alliance has multiple locations across the Kansas City metro, and we also work with the Kansas City Orthopaedic Institute (KCOI). KCOI offers after-hours access to specialized orthopedic care and highly trained physicians. Open seven days a week, walk-in service is available for patients ages 12 and older with sports injuries and everyday orthopedic injuries caused by falls and other accidents.

If you’ve had any testing related to this episode, such as X-rays, bring those with you or be prepared to share where the study took place. You should also be ready to discuss your medical history, including any medications you currently take. We also ask that you bring your insurance information, if applicable, to put on file.
Often, it’s helpful to have a family member or guardian with you as well, especially if there are pieces of the history they can assist with or if they observed your injury take place.
During your acute injury assessment, we will help you determine which tests you will need for an accurate diagnosis. We will work with you to ensure you get the right test for you and your condition.
Our orthopedic urgent care clinic isn’t for everyone. This includes patients under the age of two, patients with longstanding problems, or patients who need a prescription refill. Those patients will need to schedule an appointment with an orthopedic physician or orthopedic surgeon.
For concussions or severe injuries that threaten life or limb, patients should call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
